Outlook Sent E-mails Automatically Move to Deleted Items Folder

For most of the Microsoft Outlook users, e-mails are worth business and personal values, which the user cannot afford to lose. In such situations, if one or more e-mails are automatically deleted without any prior notification, an Outlook user can fall in grave problems. Thus, it is advised to backup your PST file as often as possible. Though there are various Email Recovery applications available, but backing up your PST file can save you from unexpected data loss that might occur due to deletion of e-mails. Further, you can read a realistic instance of unexpected e-mail deletion that can happen to any of the Outlook users.

Suppose you use Microsoft Outlook for important purposes, such as sending or receiving different queries from your business associates and clients. Thus, the Sent Items folder of Outlook contains most of the critical e-mails. But you start noticing that some or all of your sent e-mails are being directed to 'Deleted Items' folder instead of 'Sent Items' folder. Each e-mail that you send from Outlook automatically goes to 'Deleted Items' folder. Also, you may find some of the already existing e-mails of 'Sent Items' folder missing. You might find these e-mails in 'Deleted Items' folder.

Such situations can create the conditions of permanent e-mail deletion if you empty the 'Deleted Items' folder or have enabled the 'Empty the Deleted Items folder upon exiting' option.

Explanation

This behavior can occur because of any of the given possible reasons:
An Outlook rule is running that sends all sent e-mails to 'Deleted Items' folder
An anti-virus program is installed that deletes your Outlook messages

Thus, to solve this problem, check and delete the faulty rule and disable the anti-virus program to scan your Outlook e-mails. However, the above or similar problems can be efficiently dealt with if you have a valid backup available or the deleted items still exist in 'Deleted Items' folder. If doing so is not possible, you should use a Deleted Mail Recovery application to recover them. A Deleted Email Recovery software can scan your Outlook PST and retrieve all the deleted e-mails in their original format.
